I HAD to do a quick post on these lovely little darlings I scooped up at the One of a Kind Show on my dirty thirty birthday weekend. My sister (Forty-Five) and I died when we saw these little gems in person. The website just doesn’t do them justice. There were about 20 pieces from the ‘Antoinette’ collection (most of which I wanted to take home) as she’s named them, but I prefer to call them Totem ceramics. The term ‘Antointte’ feels like the polar opposite of what they embody. There’s something about these tiny potted darlings that reminds me of a silent strength. Like little brown faced resting warrior women watching over me as I type. Reminds me to have a quiet, resting, resilient strength.
This is the first time I’ve ever owned two pieces designed by the same artist. Feels fitting to make one of my first art investments on my 30th bday. Always makes me proud to have some Canadian grown magic in my home. I’m already plotting my next purchase… I think I’ve just become a collector.
Good luck narrowing down a favourite.
HAPPY E FAMILY WEEKEND YA’LL. <3.
