Like WTF. These lil beauties combine my two loves: a damn good perspex heel and FUR. Like, I’m in love.
Also I should add, that these stellar beauties are equipped with a $900 price tag. Which means I will need both a prayer and a miracle to afford them on my mom budget. But a girl can dream… right?
As you all know, I’ve been quite obsessed with fur covered shoes way before it exploded on the runways and in designer collections. My first fur shoe was a dusty old pair of old Burkenstocks that were ready for the trash. I was so inspired by the fur lined beauties that graced the Celiné runway I decided to but my own spin on a DIY version.
The second DIY was a pair of Micheal Kors wedges that I turned closed-toe with the addition of some re-worked vintage fur taken from a beloved fallen coat (seams started coming apart, but at least it lives on). I loved them so much
The next one (my current favs) were again an old ass pair of MK flats that were ripping on the outside and ready to go. I did it more as an experiement to see if I could create a wearable shoe with some longevity. Fast forward to today, they are JUST starting to rip a bit which means I got a total of nearly 3 years out of a DIY project that I wore nearly as a staple for 3 summers. Success.
With all these ‘options’ as of late, I cant decide wether to splurge a little a get something new and upgraded or keep looking for a good base for the next project. Here are some pics below of the contenders, you’ll see why the decision is a hard one…
Do I just cop me something like this and re-work them myself? Decisions man, decisions. I really can’t decide. Suppose I’ll just daydream about those Rochas in the meantime.
