Eau De Toilette; Maison Margiela Jazz Club

I love love love this fragrance.  And I’m not normally one to use multiple fragrances. I usually stick to my mainstay FunFair Evening but this won me over upon first whiff. I’d been searching | waiting forever and a day for Margiela to release a travel size Fun Fair Evening and it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen. I actually prefer to have the travel sizes instead of that clunky glass jar-style, dresser-top size.

Most of the reviews| comments I’ve seen about this fragrance refer to it as a ‘Masculine scent’ (although the whole fragrance line is unisex) which I don’t really agree with. I mean, it does have this warm, sexy, burnt sugar aroma, that’s said to reminiscent of cocktails and deep leathery armchairs, but I’m getting hints that remind me of the Islands. A warm tropical breeze carrying wafty hints of vanilla,  lemon and rum and coke come to mind. It’s also said to have hints of leather and tobacco, which were essentially created to emulate smokey Brooklyn Jazz club feels. Welp, I’ve never been to a ‘Smokey Brooklyn Jazz Club’ but I’m getting more warm, burnt sugar, musky vanilla bean than anything else.

Pink Pepper, Primofiore Lemon, Neroli Oil, Rum Absolute, Clary Sage Oil, Java Vetiver Oil, Tobacco Leaf Absolute, Vanilla Bean, Styrax Resin.

Spicy. Confident. Smooth.

I suppose this aroma is for the more unconventional female, I could see how some women would find it a little too robust. However, I’m loving it.

Best of all, it’s refillable! To be honest it’s part of the reason I bought it. Love the idea of tipping some of what you already have at home into the finished bottle as opposed to buying another. Recycle reuse. All about it.

I copped this one in store at Sephora, but they also have it online. Click here to check it out.
